Grape Variety
Typical vine of Friuli Venezia Giulia, it produces straw-colored wines, sometimes even golden. The wines from Friulano are characterized by an intense bouquet that includes floral and vegetable notes such as chamomile, wild flowers and hay. In the mouth they generally have a good body and a long almond aftertaste.
Terroir
The Friulian riviera is the portion of land between the gravely soils of the Grave and the sandy coasts overlooking the Adriatic sea, bounded between the two rivers Tagliamento and Stella. The soils have alluvial origin, thoroughly clayey and rich in organic matter. The micro-climate is influenced by sea breezes that mitigate night temperatures in summer.
Uomo
The management of the farm by the Vialetto family includes the direct intervention in the vineyard to reduce the high yields that such rich soils can give. The fairly short pruning allows to have fewer bunches for each shoot, to the advantage of the aromatic profile. The ideal balance between perfumes, intensity, body and freshness in these clayey soils of the Riviera is achieved precisely with the cultivation of Friulano.
Vinification and finishing
Vinification “in white” at controlled temperature. Aging for 6-8 months on lee, with bâtonnage.
Tasting notes
Straw yellow color with light greenish reflections. It has a complex, floral and delicately fruity aromatic profile, with notes of broom, chamomile flowers and yellow peach. Medium-bodied wine, characterized by an evident sapidity, not very long, with an almond aftertaste.
